Green Schools
On Friday 28th September the Litter Warden from Fingal County Council and a representative from the Green Schools Programme came to talk to us about the Green School Flag. They told us how we can be environmentally friendly and how we can keep our school and our environment safe and clean. We listened really well to their talk and learned lots about being green! Have a look at the photos from the talk.
Environmental Audit 4th October 2012
Today we went on an environmental audit for our green school flag. We brought maps of the school out to the yard and followed the map to the front fence. We worked in teams and each had a job:
the team leader held the map and directed his/her team
the recorder recorded on the map where we found litter and colour coded it; red for cannot be recycled and green for can be recycled
the litter wardens collected the litter and put it into bags for disposal
and our photograoher took photos of it all!
Look at the work we did on our slideshow.
